Fees . . . |
Control Expenses We believe keeping investment costs low is important to the long term success of your portfolio. To help control expenses, we utilize low cost exchange traded funds (ETF's) and encourage our customers to choose low cost custodians such as TD Ameritrade, where trading costs are miminal and there are few, if any, account fees. Full Transparency Fees found in traditional investment products, such as mutual funds and variable annuities, are often hidden making it difficult to determine what your actual costs are. Our fee structure, on the other hand, is fully transparent and both the monthly statements from the custodian and the Quarterly Reports from our firm will fully disclose all fees. Full transparency, however, can sometimes be a double edged sword as folks often pay little attention to fees if they are hidden and they don't actually see them being deducted from their accounts. It's similar to our income tax system. Our government figured out years ago it is much easier to collect income taxes if they can hide the process through mandatory payroll withholding versus making the folks mail them a check. Apparently Wall Street took their cues from Uncle Sam. Cost Comparison Therefore, we feel it is important to compare our average fee structure to the the average fees of the two most commonly used investment vehicles by brokers, mutual funds and variable annuities. In many cases, our overall costs are lower. |
